More English more fun ——Funny English Fair
In order to provide an opportunity for students to speak English outside the classroom and experience the fun of English, the Grade Two teachers decided to hold an English Fair of the ninth English Festival on April 22nd afternoon. All the students and English teachers of Grade Two and some Grade Six students, volunteers of parents took part in this activity.
There are eight games in this fair, The voice of the Grade, Golden Eyes, Wordstorming, You say I do, Look and say, Lucky Draw Answer the Questions, I can guess, and Play and say. The students need to finish the game to gain stickers. They can get some gifts according to the number of their sticker. During the fair, we can see the children, with smiling faces, enjoying the games. As most of the students were interested in the fair, they sometimes waited anxiously in the queue, sometimes they thought about how to answer the questions, or communicated with their classmates and teachers about the feelings of playing games. What’s more, we can find that the little teachers of Grade Six not only work dutifully but also passionately. For one thing, they clapped hands with Grade Two students after they finish the games. For another, they gave the students some guidance and tips to help Grade Two students pass the games. In addition, we can also find that the English teachers and volunteers of parents worked busily during the fair. Just because of the teachers’ full preparations and the assistance from parents could the activity be able to be held successfully.
As this English fair provided a good platform for students to speak English outside the classrooms, students were able to enjoy the joyfulness of communication. Though the English fair was over, we believed that the atmosphere of learning English would be better and better by the guidance of the theme ‘More English more fun’ of the ninth English Festival. （朱颖）
